Snow

The air gets colder,

The sky turns grey,

Powdery flakes begin to fall,

Softly, silently, they zig-zag down

Like quiet confetti.

The rough grey-green mountains

Change into a pretty white landscape.

Now it is sparkling like icing on a cake

Or it looks like vanilla ice-cream in a dish.

It looks like shiny sugar

Or a land of cotton wool.

Now it looks like a pile of glistening sugar crystals

Or a giant sleeping polar bear.

Could it be a sheet over someone in bed

Or wool on a shivering sheep?
