Welcome to 3@Cradoc (Acorn Class)

The first step in your child’s education is an important time for both you and your child.

3@Cradoc provides a unique nursery experience that aims to provide a high standard of care and education.   3@Cradoc is linked with the Early Years Department at Cradoc School and we work together to ease the transition between Nursery and School.   It is run under the management of Cradoc Primary School and registered and monitored by the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

3@Cradoc has planned activities in accordance with the Foundation Phase Framework.  Sessions are conducted in English with Welsh language development encouraged in all activities.

We place great emphasis, especially in the Early Years, on developing every child’s social and emotional skills.  We are very proud that this work has been identified as an “area of sector-leading practice” by Estyn during 2013.

We are open from 9 am to 3.30 pm,  Monday to Friday during term time.  Children aged from 3 to 4 are welcome. 

The setting works closely with Cool Kids Club at Cradoc to offer wrap around flexible childcare from 8.00am to 6.00pm on Monday to Friday.   This helps to support working parents, both offering a variety of stimulating and quality activities for children from an experienced and professional team in a safe and secure setting.

We are registered to provide term time childcare under the Childcare Offer for Wales.  This scheme provides 30 hours a week of combined Early Years Education and childcare.  From the term after a child’s 3rd birthday Powys County Council currently funds 10 hours of education provision, which at Cradoc can be accessed Monday-Friday between 9am- 11am.  This means that eligible parents will qualify for 20 hours of free additional childcare during term time.  Alternatively, we can provide self funded childcare throughout our opening times.
